Understanding CAS

April 5, 2008

Need is to have login portlet of cas in liferay itself.

For this integration steps found are as follows:
1. First custom login form page within cas. Create iframe for cas.
2. Modify the loginweb flow.xml file and DynamicRedirectViewSelector.java file
3. Append entry to view file in default_views? or protocol_views.properties file
4. create javascript in cas iframe js to change change url upon receiving service ticket…

First I will go through – conceptually how does it work.
Look at the integration points and then start with the above. Hope to recv some reply from someone who has already resolved this issue.

Btw, JA-SIG stands for Java Architecture Special Interest Group – has CAS,uPortal etc under it.

To integrate tomcat realms authorization with cas:

Summary is that you create your own filter that takes control post authentication after cas filter and manages the tomcat realm authorization.
